eGovernments Foundation to help streamline MCD through Computerization

  eGovernments Foundation will begin work at deploying key Municipal eGovernance applications at the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. They include

·         Property Tax Collection System

·         Fund Based Accounting System

·         Public Grievance & Redressal System

 

  eGovernments Foundation's mission is to provide an Municipal IT Software System for use in Cities/Towns  all across India - for Free.  The Foundation is a registered not-for-profit trust that aims to improve Governance in India through effective use of technologies and Govt. Processes Reengineering.

 

  Started by Infosys CEO Nandan Nilekani and Silicon Valley Technologist Srikanth Nadhamuni the eGovernments Foundation has developed an Enterprise class eGovernance Platform that can scale to Municipalities throughout the country. Features of this platform include Local Language Support, Internet Based Access, Rich GIS Integration and a robust J2EE/Java backend architecture.

 

  The eGov Property Tax Application powers the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike to collect property taxes in all 100 wards of Bangalore. Upon request from the Karnataka Govt., eGovernments Foundation is now deploying its Software Applications in 56 cities all across Karnataka including Property Tax Collection, Ward Works, Financial Accounting, Water Tax, Public Grievance, Trade Licenses and a well integrated GIS application.

 

  At the invitation of the MCD commissioner Mr. Rakesh Mehta and endorsement by the Govt. of Delhi, eGovernments Foundation will embark on this ambitious project. The project aims to streamline the municipal systems through Govt. process reengineering and use of IT tools and technologies, this will bring about transparency of information and the smoother delivery of services to the citizens of Delhi.
